Spin around, round, round me Collide without a sound Caught up in your gravity I don't know how Run away, way, way from me The spirit only I can see I need you now 'cause I don't know how I don't know what, what I was afraid of, I was afraid of
Monster take me somewhere Where I can save my breath in the end We walk in shadow Monster lead me home Where there is no place to hide Stranger on the other side We walk in shadow Monster lead me home Monster lead me home
Now you surround, round, round me Didn't think I could be found Before we tear through the streets Don't test the ground A long way, way, way from comfort Keep our back to the cold I need you now 'cause I don't know how I don't know what, what I was afraid of, I was afraid of
Monster take me somewhere Where I can save my breath in the end We walk in shadow Monster lead me home Where there is no place to hide Stranger on the other side
TORIEL
Children are knives, my mother once said. They don’t mean to, but they cut.
Frisk's adoptive mother from the Underground. Early on in their journey, Toriel showed Frisk a love and tenderness that stayed with them throughout their time in the Underground and beyond; if they hadn't been so determined to leave, they could have easily built a happy life with her. Unfortunately, she died by their hand in the second timeline... and although they managed to set things right in the final attempt, the damage had been done.
This Toriel hails from the second timeline, and with her, every mistake that Frisk has been unable to turn a blind eye to. Her initial, fearful rejection of Frisk hurt them deeply, the first taste of what would become a full spectrum of consequences, and their unwillingness to approach the woman whom they'd taken everything from left the both of them in deep estrangement and loneliness. However, thanks to the intervention of Sans, Toriel's kind heart encouraged her to make small allowances for Frisk - eventually culminating in their reconciliation, when Frisk braved the dangers of the castle to assist in rescuing her when she'd been separated from the safe areas. Toriel and Frisk now share a bond of trust as full as before, built on love and the knowledge that the other will come in their time of need.
Even still, Toriel doesn't know that Frisk is from multiple timelines, including the one she came from - the one where they struck her down at her most vulnerable. Frisk is desperate to protect her from this knowledge, as well as any whisperings of the truth concerning themself, Chara, and Asriel. All they truly want for her is for her to be happy with the children she loved and lost so long ago.

She remembers that they like cinnamon.
